🎵 Pumpkin Taco [FULL GOSPEL VERSION]
Tempo: Mid, stompin’ groove
Instrumentation: Hammond B3, baritone guitar, gospel choir, marching snare, tambourine, handclaps, tuba bass, reverb-drenched call-outs, big room echo
Pumpkin Taco Man
[VERSE 1]
Pumpkin taco rollin’ in,
Slick with spice and bottled spin,
Served it up in flags and foil,
Wrapped in folklore, baked in oil.
[CALL & RESPONSE]
(What’s in it?)
Truth and lore!
(Can you taste it?)
Down to the core!
[CHORUS]
Pumpkin taco, pass it ’round —
(round… round…)
Crunch it once, you’ll hear the sound —
(sound… sound…)
Orange shell, confused inside,
Bite too deep — and take the ride!
(Ride! YOW!)
[VERSE 2]
Found a sticker from ’84,
In the shell near something more,
A whisper said, “Don’t trust the bean,”
I chewed and saw a TV screen.
[CALL & RESPONSE]
(Is this dinner?)
Could be fate!
(Did it wiggle?)
On my plate!
[CHORUS – BIGGER NOW]
Pumpkin taco, crunchy truth,
(truth!)
Served to seniors, served to youth,
(oof!)
Tastes like headlines, dust, and dreams,
With a side of static screams!
(Screams!! đź’Ą)
[BRIDGE – SPOKEN/SHOUTED, ORGAN UNDERNEATH]
What’s inside? (Don’t ask me!)
Tastes like liberty… or old TV!
Spillin’ out across the floor —
This taco’s not what it was before!
[SOLO – ORGAN & DRUM FILL, WITH CHOIR “OHHHH YES!”]
[VERSE 3]
Took a photo, then it blinked,
Asked my fork, and it just clinked.
This ain’t lunch, it’s national myth,
Wrapped in puff and pumpkin pith.
[CALL & RESPONSE]
(Gonna eat it?)
Yes I will!
(Then regret it?)
Not until!
[FINAL CHORUS – REVIVAL STYLE, CHOIR CLAPS ALONG]
Pumpkin taco, bless my soul!
(Soul!)
Chew it slow, then lose control!
(Whoa!)
Eat it now or keep it sealed —
Too late — the fate’s revealed!
(REVEALED! HALLELUJAH!) 🙌
[OUTRO – WHISPER CHOIR, FADING ORGAN]
Pumpkin taco…
(You always knew…)
Pumpkin taco…
(It’s in you too…)
Mmmmmm… amen.
=========================================================================
It has taken two hours to get that one video up on youtube & this blog. Two hours. It took a couple of minutes to make the thing, but ten minutes through Suno, and then ouch! A full two hours to put it through Hedra for animated singer(s), upload to youtube, then put it into the blog.
So now what am I doing?
More of the same. I’m putting another song through Hedra, this time it’s a progressive jazz piece, “Miles Takes a Train”. I’ve put some of my stage paintings in as musicians…we’ll see how that turns out. I’m keeping my expectations to a minimum.
My grandma used to say, “Don’t expect much, and you’ll never be disappointed.” Good advice, take it or leave it.
===========================================================================
Actually, I’m going to sneak in my JoeBot song right here…
There, just hadda get that song out there, it’s a time-related posting, see?
===========================================================================
Gosh, is it that time, already again, hey??? Boarding the Bardo bus! All aboard!
===========================================================================
See You At The Top!!!
