Today is an unusual tasking, something I don’t ordinarily do, but I’m quickly learning that it’s a mistake to do it any other way…I’ll explain:
For a long time, I put up non-Hedra songs, with lyrics that sometimes jived with the song and sometimes didn’t, but that’s not the issue.
It was split about fifty-fifty the the songs would end up long or short, three minutes or more, or under three minutes.
All the songs I put up as “longs”, meaning horizontal format, over three minutes long, ended up with an average of 32 views each for the first month.
The shorts got anywhere from 400 to 1600 views in the same time frame. So what do you suppose I decided to do?
You’re absolutely correct — I’m now in the process of remaking the longs into shorts — not all of them, just the ones that have a singing Hedra head. Later, I’ll consider remaking the mp3s, which is a lot more work and time.
These videos can have a real impact on the scene. Here’s an example of this morning’s news taken into song:
The whole idea is to take the video apart and put it back together in a tighter and more likely to attract views way, by bringing the singer in closer, narrowing the image to a vertical 9:16 format, then shortening the length of the song — all that is accomplished for me on my handy-dandy OpenShot editor.
I’ve had this song on my palette for a few days now, finally got the Hedra done:

That was my night’s work. Hope you enjoy the results.
