Legacy Through Art: A Smart Gift with Lasting Impact

Buy It for the Gift, Not the Wall

You don’t have to like it. You don’t have to frame it. You don’t have to live with it.

Because this isn’t about decorating your home. It’s about shaping your legacy.

When you purchase an original artwork by Renoir, Rembrandt, Dali, Chagall, Miro, Matisse, Picasso, Degas, E.J. Gold, Rodin, Needham and many other masters, you’re acquiring a unique, hand-crafted cultural artifact that can immediately be donated to a museum, university, or other cultural institution.

This is art with purpose.

Why Buy to Donate?

✔ Powerful Tax Benefits
You may be eligible to deduct fair market value of the artwork, not just the purchase price. That means a piece that appraises higher than the price paid could possibly get you a  deduction for the value rather than the price paid, or so I’m told. You can’t rely on any information from me — check with your accountant for accurate information.

The thing is, with Republicans in charge, it seems to always be the case that you get the higher of the two, but in actual fact, I know NOTHING, except the fact that many rich people give donations of art to museums. Only a tax professional can tell you if you’re eligible for any tax deduction.

*Always consult a qualified certified tax professional to understand your eligibility and the current rules for deducting art donations.

✔ Legacy Without Storage
No space required. The art doesn’t sit in your home or your vault. It lives in the public sphere, in a gallery, a school, a permanent collection, with YOU listed as the patron.

✔ Immediate Cultural Impact
Your donation helps shape the future of art history, museum programming, and student education.

✔ Name Recognition
Most institutions will acknowledge your gift with a donor plaque, catalog listing, or digital record. Your name becomes part of the permanent archive.

What You Get

  • Certificate of Authenticity from the artist
  • Statement of Transfer (for your donation paperwork)
  • Help connecting with reputable institutions currently accepting donations
  • Optional appraisal contacts and tax guidance referrals

Who Wants This?

This program is ideal for:

  • Philanthropists
  • Retired professionals
  • Doctors, lawyers, and CPAs
  • Collectors looking to downsize
  • Anyone interested in legacy, cultural preservation, or smart gifting

You don’t have to be an art lover. You just have to love what the act of giving does.

How It Works

We make NO appraisal of any work of art. You choose the appraiser and pay the appraisal fee. We have absolutely nothing to do with the appraisal.

  1. Choose a piece or a batch from the available Museum-Grade collections.
  2. We provide provenance, history, and donation-ready documentation.
  3. You make the purchase.
  4. We help you connect with the institution of your choice.
  5. You or your accountant handles the tax benefit filing and IRS appraisal.

Let’s Move the Art Where It Belongs

We have hundreds of pieces ready for this journey. There is also a large library of rare books and manuscripts, including the Donner Party and Spencerian handwriting. We are actively looking for good responsible and safe new homes for these art collections.

This is your chance to do something lasting, impactful, and smart.

🎯 Why Original Artwork Is Your Best Bet Right Now

  1. It’s Yours. It’s Documented. It’s Clear.
No provenance hunts, no export permits—your art comes with built-in legitimacy We include all the documents necessary for provenance.

  2. It Has Real Market Flexibility
People will buy to donate, buy to own and then donate, buy to support the art community, or buy to impress their accountant.

  3. Tax Benefits Make It Attractive
Art becomes a vehicle for smart giving.

  4. It Can Be Moved in Batches
One donor could pick up 10–20 pieces and distribute them across multiple institutions.

  5. It Comes With a Story
The Cedar Bar lineage, IDHHB roots, spiritual depth—this isn’t “just” art. It’s living resonance.

🇨🇦 Canada’s Rules (Importing from US → Canada)

  • Original paintings, drawings, collages, mosaics, pastels, engravings, prints, sculptures done entirely by hand are duty‑free under tariff chapters 97.01–97.03.

  • Some “other” original art using unconventional materials may incur a 5.5%–7% duty.
  • Canada did slap a 25% retaliatory surtax on various U.S. goods, but fine art is exempt.
  • Temporary imports (like for exhibitions) involve paperwork (e.g. CBSA Form E29B) and possible HST, but not permanent duty.

🖼️ Why We’re Letting These Works Go

For decades, our studios and warehouse have been filled with original artwork—paintings, drawings, collages, prints—each made with care, meaning, and a deep intention to uplift, awaken, and inspire.

Now, with thousands of pieces carefully preserved, we’re faced with a simple truth:

We can no longer properly house them all, and we have no public viewing of the original artwork.

And more importantly—we believe these works belong in the world, on public exhibit.

We’re not liquidating—we’re liberating. We’re looking for good homes for these pieces—in responsible museums, libraries and other official institutions, where they can be seen, studied, and shared.

These works are meant to live in museums, universities, retreat centers, chapels, schools, and sacred spaces. Places where they can do their work. Places where they can reach the people they were created for.

You don’t have to be a collector. You just have to care where the art ends up. We’re trying to get it where it belongs, while also benefiting the community, with your kind help!
