Avenue “A”

SONG: Avenue A

Verse 1
I start at 14th on Avenue A, where the city’s alive,
Past the coffee shop crowd, and the bodegas thrive.
There’s the baker, the florist, a cat in the sun,
Each storefront’s a story, and each face tells one.

Chorus
I walk these streets like a page from a book,
Every block, every corner has a place if you look.
From Avenue A down to Third and beyond,
It’s a piece of the city I can always count on.

Verse 2
There’s old Lou on the corner, he nods as I pass,
By the barber with clippers and the shop with stained glass.
A mural of colors, bright reds and blues,
It’s the heart of the East Side, with its wild, warm hues.

Chorus
I walk these streets like a page from a book,
Every block, every corner has a place if you look.
From Avenue A down to Third and beyond,
It’s a piece of the city I can always count on.

Bridge
Turning right on 11th, I slow down my pace,
The laughter of school kids fills up the space.
I pass the diners, the bookstores, the bars open late,
This city’s a rhythm, a beat I can’t shake.

Verse 3
The Downtown Community, just west of Third,
Where young voices carry, a hopeful word.
It’s the end of my walk, but the start of a day,
In this city that changes but always stays.

Outro
So I walk it again, this old familiar line,
With the hum of the city, every step feels fine.
From Avenue A to the school’s front gate,
It’s a journey I take, and I’ll always wait.
