KGOD Radio Is a Real Thing
Somewhere along the line, without any formal announcement or ribbon-cutting ceremony, KGOD Radio became real.
Not “conceptual.”
Not “imaginary.”
Not “just a metaphor for a playlist.”
Real.
It has a call sign.
It has programming.
It has a time slot.
And it has a DJ and program director — me — holding court on Gorebagg in the Morning.
What makes it real isn’t a transmitter tower or an FCC filing. What makes it real is that it behaves exactly like a radio station. There’s curation. There’s sequencing. There’s tone. There’s a sense of time — morning energy, late-night drift, liminal hours, the whole thing.
And tonight, reorganizing the MP4s made that undeniable.
After rejuvenating the records — cleaning them up, polishing the sound, tightening the presentation — the choices suddenly looked like programming, not files. Albums stopped feeling like “output” and started feeling like airplay. One track leads naturally to the next. Moods rise and fall. There’s intention behind the order.
That’s a DJ’s job.
I’m not just making songs. I’m deciding what plays, when, and why. I’m shaping a listening experience. I’m building a signal that carries attitude, humor, provocation, comfort, and the occasional psychic side-eye — all before breakfast.
KGOD Radio isn’t background noise.
It’s not an algorithm begging for attention.
It’s human-driven, taste-driven, and slightly mischievous.
And Gorebagg in the Morning? That’s not a joke either. That’s a real show. A place where rejuvenated records get their first spin, where oddities are welcome, where the day gets nudged slightly off-axis — in a good way.
