CORRUPTION! CORRUPTION!
A New Song by E.J. Gold
She’s young. She’s glamorous. She’s got a terrific voice. And she’s about to tell you everything that’s wrong with Washington, D.C.
But don’t worry. She’s going to make it sound wonderful.
Welcome to CORRUPTION! CORRUPTION!, a cheerful little musical excursion into the wonderful world of bribery, influence peddling, political favors, bought-and-paid-for justice, and the fine American tradition of selling absolutely anything to the highest bidder.
Our charming young songstress has a simple message:
If you visit Washington D.C., be sure to bring a bribe or three!
And she’s just getting warmed up.
Backed by a lively jazz arrangement, a bouncing bass, sparkling piano, and a band that sounds suspiciously like it’s having much too good a time, our heroine takes us on a guided tour of the nation’s capital.
It’s a place where money talks, justice walks, and the Constitution seems to have been misplaced somewhere between the lobbyist’s office and the campaign contribution department.
Is it a protest song?
Well, sort of.
Is it political satire?
Absolutely.
Is it dance music?
You bet your sweet campaign contribution it is!
The remarkable thing about corruption is that practically everybody is against it, at least until they get a chance to participate.
And that’s what makes this song so much fun.
There’s no angry shouting, no solemn finger-wagging, no tedious lectures about the decline of civilization.
Just a pretty girl in a red sequined dress, singing her heart out while the whole political establishment goes merrily down the drain.
The song was originally written by E.J. Gold in 2025 and has now been given a brand-new musical arrangement for 2026, complete with a delightful jazz performance and a glamorous young video star.
So put aside your political differences, loosen your tie, check your wallet, and enjoy a little musical honesty about the way things work.
After all, if we’re going to be robbed blind, we might as well have a good soundtrack.
