A strange thing happened this summer — a band with no history, no gigs, and no traceable members shot up the streaming charts. It called itself The Velvet Sundown, and before long, listeners began to suspect there wasn’t a single living musician behind it. What followed was a glimpse into the near future of music. These actually stabilize your phone automatically with tiny motors. Perfect if you’re walking while filming, like showing off a barn or art room. Continue reading
When you listen to a song in a language you don’t understand, something extraordinary happens — something that rarely occurs when you already know the meaning of the words. Your mind, relieved of its usual duty to analyze and interpret, begins to listen differently. The words stop being linguistic markers and become pure sound — shapes, rhythms, emotional tones. The human voice, freed from language, becomes an instrument, like a cello or saxophone, carrying meaning through vibration rather than vocabulary. Continue reading
Somewhere between yesterday and tomorrow, the Bardo Bus made an unscheduled stop.
The driver didn’t explain, as usual. A few passengers looked up from their phones,

Germanium Diode Earrings — Micro Superheterodyne Receivers
Each earring contains a functional germanium diode — the same component that made the earliest crystal radios possible. The diode detects ambient electromagnetic fields, converting invisible radio energy into a measurable response. Sterling silver or 18-karat gold beads serve as both antenna extensions and conductive accents, transforming fine jewelry into an untuned receiver sensitive to the universal radio environment, the universal radio waves that permeate reality. E.J. Gold
“All right gang — this one’s special. Bardo Station #9 isn’t just a song, it’s a ride. Think of it as a midnight train that runs between worlds — smoky, half-lit, always slightly off the map. Each stop along the way is another language, another voice of the same soul trying to explain what it feels like to die, remember, laugh about it, and keep going anyway. Continue reading
It was the summer of 1959, and I’d just climbed aboard a crosstown bus on 125th Street in Manhattan — nothing unusual about that, except for the woman who sat down beside me. She introduced herself within seconds and, without a trace of hesitation, told me she was a witch. Not a “phony witch,” as she put it — a real Wiccan. She said it like she was talking about the weather, and I suppose that was the moment the universe decided to rearrange itself for me. Continue reading
