Alas, when wandering in the Bardos, food — and sometimes very tempting food — is available everywhere around you.
You’ll also note here with interest that, without the advent of the “retail popup tent”, there would be no such market anywhere in the world, but with the 10′ x 10′ retail tent, all things are possible, even events that are plagued by rain.
You absolutely cannot leave your market shop vulnerable, so it means locking it up or packing it up and taking it home and storing it in a locking building of some kind.
In addition, as you wander in the Bardos, you’ll see lighting and sounds, all products of modern technology, in play here on the street fairs and open markets of the world, and it is a world-wide phenomenon, and that includes several non-phenomenal worlds as well.
Think of all the innovations and easily accessible items that make it all possible — propane tanks, refrigeration units, woks and other cooking devices, and the invention of the foods themselves, the spreads, the toppings, the fillings and more.
Some parts of the Bardo feature various barbecue style meats. You can use your own imagination to fill out the resultant rebirths and other situations you might easily create for yourself if you experience hunger or desire for anything.
Alas, when wandering in the Bardos, there are so many temptations, but if you never develop the NEED for certain tastes and sensations, you won’t be bothered, even when the aromas of the hundreds of different foods being prepared right in front of you.
Of course, once in a while you’ll find yourself in a parklike setting, with a seriously Latino band, composed mostly of students — in the Bardos, there are the professionals — that’d be you, if you’re reading this — and the amateurs, or what we call “turistas”.
If you’ve been able to recall at least some of your Bardo experiences, you’ll of course know Puy, the Roti Lady of Thailand. She can be treated as a Helpful Guide, but you can’t trust her to make your consuming directives for you.
