Looking Backward Forwardly

I wrote this blog in 2019, and I can prognosticate just as easily what’s going to happen next from now on, but I guarantee this much — you can’t make up this shit.

If you had been told that every breakfast table conversation for the next seven years was going to include Donald Trump, you’d have thought me as crazy as he is, but it happened, and here we are, talking about that cowardly bully with the Hitler Grin, once again, and tomorrow, it’ll be the same.

How can a daylight crook dominate the planet for so long?

Magic in the Mirror Revisited

x
Ancient Chinese Trans-Dimensional Device shown onstage, Dresden, 1899.

That’s us, in the photo above, just before we respawned to build and operate the Golden Lion in San Francisco from 1922-1939. I respawned in 1941 to attend this party. Here, below, is the script for the Fifth Wave Quantum Distortion Demonstration, described below:

Fifth Wave Routine

What’sa matter?  Are you stuck in time? Do you belong to another time and place? Is your world cold, empty and futile? Well, fret no more, bunkie, help is on the way. Thanks to several advancements in science that have already been leaked to the public, I am at last able to make my “Wayback Machine” Voyages into the far distant past and into an unknown future. Updated Fashions KunstMatrix Exhibition

Yeah, it’s just lil’ ol’ me again, with an updated version of the SL Fashions kunstmatrix exhibition.

I’ve taken out the greyish matte-boards and brought the size of the image up to the size of the frame, and it makes it a LOT easier to see the things, plus you get the idea that it’s an item for sale, not a print for the wall.

I’ve put the entrance below my “more” line, so it wouldn’t mess up the download of this page too heavily, otherwise it could take a while.

Ancient Egyptian Virtual Exhibition is UP!

Yep, it’s finally up and running, with all the goodies I had planned to put in there. You’ll notice that the architecture is very reminiscent of an ancient Egyptian tomb, narrow walls and low ceilings.

I didn’t plan that — it’s one of the standard offerings on kunstmatrix, and one I find useful, especially in “railroad car” style layouts, like the cold-water walkup flats in downtown New York City back in the 1950s.

I’m sure it’s not too much different now, smelling of old garbage and sweltering with the newfound heat of summer. Continue reading

Daily Life in Ancient Rome

Daily life in Ancient Rome.

Well, certainly not ALL life in Ancient Rome, just the more spectacular. I could have dwelt upon the general poverty and suffering of everyone who lived under the cruelty of the Roman Empire, but instead decided to concentrate just on the buildings we put up in the ashram.

There’s nothing quite like strolling through an ancient Egyptian temple complex or giant palace. Continue reading

Museum Gift Shop Open for Business

Well, by dingy-dongy, I done it. I was determined to finish the MaMa Gift Shop tonight, and I did, but now I’m totally ragged and have to go down for a while.

I may or may not make it back up for the Sunday morning zoom meeting, but I will give it my best try when the time comes — I won’t know until then.

So the items I selected for the gift shop were things I thought were fun and affordable. Continue reading

You Are Welcome

You are most welcome to walk into any of my virtual exhibitions. The url addresses are on my previous blogs.

I’ve just completed the exhibition hall that I’ve included here, which is an exploration of my zazzle earrings, which is to say, I made nothing — I just uploaded my images.

Now, look — it cost me nothing to make those things. I merely uploaded my images, my designs, onto the website, and loaded them onto a variety of objects, priced them to sell, and now sit back to reap the benefits. Continue reading

Silicon Estates is Alive and Well!

Here’s what I’ve been up to tonight — listing some of my many architectural creations in second life.

They can be carried as virtual charms, or actually set up in a second life environment. You can rent them for about $20 a month, often even less, and there’s enough room in there for several villagers.

What I thought might work is to set up a small village, not too many prims, for maybe 20 people, each contributing a dollar a month to the Village Project, under someone’s private ownership, so it can develop commercially.

My thought was a shopping village that’s open only two hours per week, on either Saturday or Sunday.

Goods can be displayed and purchased directly from the in-game environment, and payment is automatic and instantaneous, exchanging lindens for an item that goes into the inventory of the buyer.

The spaces could function in many different ways on a social dynamic level. Commercially, I can’t say as much, but these have functions in the MetaVerse — it can be translated into the metaverse language, or just plain copied.

That’s where good design comes in.

Now, what about making some things and putting them up  on the marketplace, and making a virtual exhibition showroom out of the results?

That’s exactly what I’m doing here as an indication of just one possible direction this could take, and the rest is up to you to figure out.

See You At The Top!!!

What is IDHHB???

What’s my next move with the virtual exhibition tool that we now have at our disposal? Gosh, you may well ask — I hadn’t a clue when I started out last night, but a number of recent discussions have led me to believe that somebody has yet to spell out exactly what it is we do do.

What I mean is, where are all the American dollars going, other than the normal $500 increase in a normal family’s expenses for food and gasoline this week — next week, it’ll be worse.

I wanted to fill the tank the other day, but there was no loan officer at the gas station when I pulled up.

So what is it we do? What do we offer? Who’s doing this with us? Where is the love? What’s the capital of South Dakota?

That’s the only question for which you actually need the correct answer, and it’s not “Fargo”.

But I haven’t yet told you what it is we do here at The Home, which we lovingly call “IDHHB, Incorporated”. Actually, we refer to it as “the Institute”, which, to a total stranger, sounds even worse.

Well, I’ve been at it all night long, the project of showing what we do, and I’ve been going at it since 7:00 pm last night, all the way to now, and finally have the definitive “greeting space” for the Institute down in concrete, virtual concrete though it may be.

I suppose with the language spoken on today’s newscasts and in both whorehouses of Congress, I might as well have written the title “What the Heck Darn is IDHHB anyway???

When I asked for a rundown of what it is we do and what we offer, I got nothing, so decided to run it down myself, and here’s the result, which was imaginatively titled, “What is IDHHB?”. Actually, that’s a very good question –here’s my answer: Continue reading
