Social Media Exploitation

This video has garnered 259,000 views, a quarter of a MILLION people have seen it! It’s a simple gimmick — use a joke as your script, and get the machine voice to tell the story!

I was looking for a word that means more or less the same thing as “weaponizing”, but I didn’t want to militarize the idea or to make it violent, because it’s not, it’s just simply exploiting, obsessively looking for openings, weaknesses, sensitivities.

I had other words for “exploitation”, but none of them were acceptable in modern language, what with all the “weaponizing” and such going on, but “exploitation” seems to fit the bill all right — it means to take advantage, to be opportunistic in the extreme, and that’s exactly what’s intended here.

If you’re taking my social media marketing course for the first time — and many folks repeat it just to catch the extras, because the course is very concentrated — you need to know that the heart of all marketing is reaching new faces every day.

That task is not all that easy in today’s corrupted communications world. By “corrupted” I mean all the slash and burn advertisements that pop into your face as you browse or study a page online.

The continual onslaught of commercial chatter into your private thinking space makes real thought impossible, and distraction the order of the day.

How about 80,000 views for this simple and fun video exploitation of some still photos that I animated in the video editor. It was thrown together in less than two hours and still captures plenty of interest.

You want distraction?

I’ll give you distraction. Look at any live url on the internet right now, and you’ll get a flood of commercial “click-bait” buttons hurled at your head, and you’d better duck fast — they know exactly what turns you on and what you think you need or want right now.

They actually do know better than you what you want, because to them, you’re just a rolling decimal point on a set of statistics, and if you’ve selected ANYTHING on the internet ever, they’ve got your number.

You have only to click the “on” button and you’ll receive a whalloping number of assaults on your wallet, many of which you might just find irresistible or at least worth a click.

Okay, so where does that leave you?

It should leave you where you are now, which is right where you were a year ago, but slightly worse off.

The solution? Learn social media marketing and market the hell out of everything you can get your hands on, including the kitchen sink — I happen to have one cheap. Well, not a sink, a commercial “Wolf” style range, which I’m giving away for free to clear my storage.

If you put something out to your people on IG or FB, you MAY get through to 1/10th of your list of followers or friends or subscribers, but there’s only one way to get out there FREE to potentially millions of click-throughs.

This particular video has gotten 90,000 views, and allows me to convey a very important idea about “Letting Go”.

How?

Youtube at the moment has no restrictions on who can view your video. On IG and FB, they impose a definite limit on the number of people who receive your posting, and the type of person that google will let see your stuff.

This is not good. The only way to beat that on IG and FB and Google is to PAY them blood money to reach more of YOUR OWN people!!! How fair is that?

So on youtube, you have the potential to reach millions with your video, or at least hundreds of thousands.

Okay, maybe you’re not up to hundreds of thousands of views yet, but what about hundreds of videos that get TENS of thousands of views?

Each one of those views is a potential click-through to your selected target web page, see? That’s the cheapest way YOU’LL ever get to acquire new faces on your sales pages, and in fact, it’s not cheap, it’s FREE!

At the moment, youtube doesn’t charge you to reach more people, but rest assured, they’re working on it. Everything goes to some business plan — there is no free lunch, especially on the internet, especially in the digital world. It’s all part of somebody’s marketing plan, and we are the pawns in that game.

To minimize the Pawn Effect, you need to first figure out that the place is empty, and that there has been a massive migration from the space where you found people all the time and now.

It’s very different, and you’re left asking the bewildered question, “Where did everybody go”, and the answer is: “they went to IG and FB and SnapChat, that’s where.

Here’s a strange “Freddie Mercury” video about playing the kazoo — believe it or not, it has gotten a whalloping 55,000 views, and still counting!

And where have you been?

Over on eBay? Etsy? All of the other dead websites that used to be so popular with the shopping crowd? There’s nobody left on those pages except the old folks, and they’re losing ground every day.

Look at what the new youtube postings look like. They do, in fact, have a definite “L@@K” to them, and it’s very definite, very specific and very recognizable to the youngsters, but we have no idea how to read the signals contained in these web graphics.

I know, none of this is of any interest to you, you’re quite content to stay where you are and to do what you’re doing now.

If you’re happy with the way things are going, then there’s nothing to worry about, nothing to do — just sit back and enjoy the show, but if it’s NOT going all that well …

44,000 hits on this funny little gaming video made in diablo 2, where there’s still plenty of action, and where you can sign up for a Bardo Safari any day of the week!

Maybe it’s time to learn.

There’s gold in them thar hills, if you can figure out how to squeeze yourself between all the howling, screaming merchants jumping up and down and waving goods in front of your face as they bring the price lower and lower down to impossible depths, but still you do not respond.

You are net-disciplined.

You probably got that way using Zen Basics to recover from DAS, “Digital Addiction Syndrome”.

If you haven’t done that yet, you’re still a victim of the powerful hypnotic sleep of digital interface with your master, the smartphone. Most smartphones are way smarter than their owners.

This little 23 second video got over 40,000 views and it hasn’t stopped getting hits yet! I have 17 HOURS of footage with Harry, so this could be quite a rich field.

Doubt it? Ask Alexa.

So how do you do your spiritual work and at the same time pay the bills? Easy answer — you MARKET the Work, and let some of that income pay the bills.

Use what’s left over to take a workshop or to go on a retreat or to buy an incredible ammy, or get a set of Past Life Survey tools and do some Life Counseling.

All the rules and regulations are off. The boxing gloves are off. Use everything you’ve got to stay alive in The Work, and that means tons of social media marketing.

Why social media marketing and not just marketing?

Because all other forms of marketing are dead or soon to be extinct, and you need to be standing somewhere else when The System collapses.

This amazing video gathered 108,000 views, using flashes. This is a permed advert with a flag to the website to purchase, but originally there was no hot link to the sales url. Now there will be, once I get in there and restore and rehab the ancient video, which is the immediate goal.

You can see the smoke from here.

Social Media Marketing is expensive. Youtube marketing is FREE. The comparison between costly and free is too great to ignore.

You can’t afford google ads, and I doubt they’d do you any good. I’ve never known anyone who got any benefit from google ads, and I’ve talked to plenty of marketers.

It’s not worth the money to pay google a ransom for your own customers.

Therefore, I recommend trying to market on youtube, but there’s a catch — you have to know exactly how to do it, or you just won’t get away with the exploit.

What you do is, you make a video about some product, extolling its virtues, showing the product up close, showing people happy with the product — basically a one-minute commercial about the product. You can get this product here:

http://www.brane-power.comĀ  or whatever target landing page you want to put there. The hot link can be made to go directly to a sales url, as well, such as this “new ammies” page:

https://www.brane-power.com/products/new.html

Well, that’ll get them to that exact sales page where they can actually put those things in their shopping cart.

FaceBook and InstaGram are marketing the lie to you that they reach people with your ad, but they don’t really — you have to pay a LOT to reach people with your ad on those venues, and they aren’t generally responsive to ads on those sites anyway.

So if you don’t have a website and can’t put up a shopping cart, then shopify or some such app is what you probably need, but if you can put up a phone-friendly website and put a shopping cart on it, you’re far better off just getting the client to your selling page on your own website, where you can control the transaction and secure the payment.

Ding dang it, I wuz just gettin’ started here on the subject of how to get a video to go viral, but I’ll get to that next time, just a little bit more.

See You At The Top!!!
