What’s the Secret of NFTs?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9qQaWFVuYIs

That’s a real good question. I happen to be a famous artist. To confirm this simple fact, you have merely to google me. Yep, I’m famous, all right. I’ve had more than my fair share of Warhol’s equally famous “15 Minutes of Fame”, but fame is not the formula for success.

Fame won’t get you very far unless it’s promoted. Without constant promotion, fame is fleeting. Heck, it is, even if you grow the brand for years and years. Eventually, all things crumble and fall, and your fame and personal fortune are no exception.

Man walks into a bar, sees a drunk and disheveled Janice Joplin type sitting on a tall bar stool, walks over to her, notices she’s got a perfectly rolled marijuana “Bomber” dangling from her botoxed lips, can’t help but say out loud to the marijuana cigarette, “What’s a nice joint like you doing in a girl like this?”

What I’m trying to say is, no matter how famous you are, without promotion, you’re a nothing, a zero, and if you don’t possess the secret of the NFT, you need to correct that right now, so keep reading.

I’ve been focused for the past year on getting the God Particle out there, and getting the Orbs built to make QMVs, and a few more related projects.

Barbara and I have spent hundreds of hours perfecting the Orbs that go into the God Particle, and we’ll be spending just a bit more getting everything in place before we ship them.

We don’t want to have to fix it later, although it is possible. I should mention that Barbara has taken on the task of fully populating and animating the levels, along with the particle work she usually is responsible for.

Don’t end a sentence with “for”. I know, I know — but I almost got away with it.

You  won’t sell your NFTs by the artwork — it’s not what it looks like or what it does or how it behaves or any of that.

The only real detail the buyer is going to want is “How famous is the maker?”. I’m afraid we’re living more or less permanently in a celebrity culture.

No need to be a real celebrity. Just be a celebrity in the NFT Jungle, the tangled web of networking NFT traders, most of whom are entirely uninterested in the subject matter or the image itself, just the profit margin at the end of the day.

That’s a recipe for disaster. It’s not about the money. If it is about the money, that motivator won’t last long.

You need something stronger.

NFTs are an art challenge. Find the right subject matter for a NFT can be very elusive. Getting the NFT out there and promoted is the real work of the modern artist.

Anyone can make a piece of art, but it takes a real artist to sell it to someone. That goes directly against the grain of the typical view of what it is to be an artist, but the reality will soon enough set in, that this world does not welcome art or artists — you have to make your way and prove your value.

I know of no other art outlet that enables YOU to suddenly achieve wealth, fame and lots of exposure of your artwork to thousands or millions, than having a viral NFT.

It’s entirely possible to realize thousands and even millions of  dollars from the sale of  your NFTs, if you hit the market rightly.

If you don’t, you’ll end up with a bunch of junk that nobody wants. Well, you’re no better off now, are you? Might as well give it a try.

So first of all, I’m on OpenSea because it’s an open market, a free market, not judged by official art appreciators, not restricted to a better class of people — it’s egalitarian, a People’s Art Market.

It is by definition, a marketplace for Pop Art, art that appeals to the population, popular art among the people.

That leaves the art critics totally out of the picture, and they deserve it. The art pundits have been wrong for centuries.

How to create a NFT?

I’ll give you The Basic Instruction here, but later on, you’ll have to learn what it really means. There’s no way to convey that verbally. It’s a matter of Experience Personally Experienced.

Do what’s fun.

That’s the whole frickin’ plan. If you’re chuckling as you make the NFT, if you’re feeling uplifted and like a kid having fun at a playground, you’re doing it right.

Do what’s fun for you right now. Don’t do draggy stuff that you don’t want to do. Let your feelings guide you, and you’ll get customers galore.

They can SENSE when you’re having fun — they want to have fun, too, and would like to share in your joy and happiness, so plug them in — give them a connector in the form of a NFT, to your joy and general good cheer.

So that’s a DIRECT way that you can apply these ideas.

What I’m suggesting is that you post a number of NFTs, then go into ZOOM, record on your computer, share screen with your posting to create a video of the item, about 30 seconds long.

Then go into your video editor and edit it down to 15 seconds and, after checking it to see that it looks all right, upload it onto youtube as a #Short.

Your title will mention that it’s a NFT, and will also include that it’s a #Short. The description will mention that it’s a #Short, and will expand slightly on the concept, but realize that the description does nothing on a #Short, has no effect, but might give someone a clue where to find your stuff.

Now all you need to do is get a bunch of friends together and form a traders & collectors club, and start trading between yourselves.

You will soon be joined by others who want to belong to something fun, but that’s only if YOU YOURSELF are having fun.

Having Fun is the CORE of this practice.

If you can’t allow yourself to have fun, or can’t think of a way to have fun, or don’t have a clue what fun is, satisfy yourself with the cold-stone fact that you’re not alone.

Nobody I know is automatically having fun.

It takes some doing, and some conscious work on self, to make that happen, and that’s the whole idea. The effort creates the tools for work, and the opportunity for great results.

You need to have fun.

No pressure. Just have fun, or else. If you don’t have fun, you will totally fail. Again, no pressure. Just have some damn fun, okay???

Fun doesn’t just happen. Waiting for fun to come around again on the guitar is a waste of precious time, and in the end, you’re doomed.

Fail, fail, fail.

Why can’t you have fun? What’s preventing you from having fun? Maybe it’s the subject matter, maybe it’s the action, maybe it’s just something about it that doesn’t turn you on.

So what? Do it anyway.

Have fun making a NFT. Then have fun promoting it, which means making a video and posting it on youtube and placing stringers out there in social media.

I know it’s a drag, but you have to force yourself to just keep on having fun, and don’t stop having fun, and that’s an order!

Look, this whole entire universe was created in order to have a place to play. To have fun. What else is there?

To bring about an end to world-suffering would be fun. To eliminate poverty and injustice would be fun. To create an atmosphere that encourages higher consciousness would be fun.

Hey, even something totally boring, like quiet meditation, can be — and should be — fun.

Splitting wood and carrying water should be fun. Doing nothing should be fun, and making NFTs doubly so. But there’s another secret about making and promoting and selling NFTs.

Relax.

No,  I mean it. Really relax, not just suppress your fears and worries and hardships. That’s not relaxation.

Real Relaxing means letting go, totally go — just letting go, no holding back, no reservations, no hesitation.

Just relax. Let the process take place, and thoroughly enjoy every moment of it.

I hear you. I know just what you mean. Of COURSE it’s impossible.

Problem for you is, there’s no room for failure, you’ve GOT to master this, and well within this lifetime. Failure is not an option. If that doesn’t motivate you, I don’t know what will.

So Number One, you need to Have Fun, and Number Two, you need to Actually Relax. I’m sorry to bring you down, but that’s really the way it is.

Have fun, relax, and … As you suspected all along, there is a third item that goes along with this formula, and it’s something that I should mention, at this juncture.

Compassion.

You need to develop compassion and connection with your art clientele, which is first established by you having fun with the NFT, and you relaxed about selling your NFT, and then cemented by your compassion.

Compassion is a direct result of powerful two-way connection.

Art is not just a picture — it’s a direct connection between the artist and the client, and the artist should be considered a shaman or spirit guide for the viewer. It’s not about the art, it’s about the connection, but you’ll need to learn those three fundamentals first:

  1. Have Fun
  2. Relax
  3. Connection Creates Compassion

This is all about making connections and putting yourself out there on the line. Your spirit is hanging out for all the world to see, and it’s up to you to make sure it helps people overcome their fears and anxieties.

Because you need to master these three skills, this can be an effective Practice for the spiritual worker, as part of your daily practices.

See You At The Top!!!
