Win Powerball $1.6 Billion

If you think it’s easy to win millions or billions of dollars at any sort of game of chance, especially the state lottery, you’re right. It’s easy to win, but much easier to lose. Here’s a 2009 video showing the lottery win, plus an alternative life-style to the millionaire:

Did we win at the lottery? Not I — it’s not my sort of thing. But my Mom did, and lived for another 20 years without doing anything but watching daytime TV and playing an occasional table game.

I took none of the winnings, and it turns out, some 35 years later, we live a beautiful life that can’t be bought with money, a Work Life, and I wouldn’t trade it for all the money in the world.

Especially all the money in the world. What would I want with that? If you’ve never had a LOT of money, you’ll think I’m making this up, but I’ve known hundreds of millionaires and a few billionaires, and hundreds of very successful movie stars, and they were all miserable. Continue reading

Concerning Metal Embossing

I took this photo of a recovered UFO when I was in the U.S. Army.

I use several kinds of metal in my embossing studio — copper, brass and other. The “Other” is a strange brand of aluminum coated with some sort of gold-like stuff, with aluminum on the back —  which is easy enough to overcome in a piece of jewelry.

The aluminum sheet is easy to emboss, no struggle whatever, but I can’t say as much for the copper, which is very hard to manage, and the brass, hardest of all.

The thing is, if you want to make a sturdy set of wind chime earrings, you’ve got to use brass — copper just won’t do, it’s too doggone soft. On the other hand, just try embossing copper and see how soft it is — the answer is “not very”. Copper looks amazing, and so does the brass, but they don’t take detail like the coated aluminum sheet does. Continue reading

Last Gasps of Liberty

Enjoy it while you’ve still got it, but your Liberty along with your Personal Liberty will be gone in a matter of days, and you’re left holding the bag. I intend to reveal to you some last-minute Saves, by which I refer to some tricks that even you, as insignificant and weak as you are, can pull out of that bag. Here are a few amusing and immersive videos that might take the edge off the day just a little. Have fun, no matter what happens.

ESCAPE! Videos #10

I’m going to try a new format this morning, where I just say whatever I want to say, and at the same time, run a few interesting and possibly funny videos past you, to take off some of the sting — but you need to know what’s going on, even while you’re laughing out loud.

So … Here we are, exactly one week away from the midterms, and there is no good news ahead — it’s all bad, starting with the loss of democracy and the annihilation of the vote, but wait! You can still have a few laughs before they come to get you, and here’s one of them:

The Purges have begun. When Trump is placed back in office — and he will be — everyone who has EVER been even SLIGHTLY critical of Trump will be rounded up and taken to the wall, and I don’t mean the wall that the Mexicans were supposed to pay for.

I’ll definitely be among the first against the wall, for a variety of offenses including my political humor book, “Trump is a Four-Letter Word”, and my Protest Songbook, Protest CD album, protest cartoons and videos and, of course, my 18 newly released video games that make fun of Trump and the allies he rode in on. Rembrandt CSI

This print is hard to find and easy to sell to a smart collector.

Well, I did want to post another round of funny and interesting ESCAPE! videos, but this rather important thing came up, about original 17th century Rembrandt etchings.

Look, Rembrandt etchings are traded like stamps, coins, sports cards and memorabilia — it’s all about Scarcity, Desirability and Condition, the “Big 3” of collectible trading.

I have a number of interested possible buyers for the few Rembrandts I have posted in my tiny collection in my virtual gallery, but it’s tricky — I can’t and won’t sell to an amateur. I’ve had that flavor of sale, and eschew it rabidly.

I don’t actually OWN a bunch of Rembrandt etchings — I don’t have to, because I sell them first, and THEN I FIND and buy them and ship them, see? That way, there’s no money up front, no risk of loss of the originals, and no storage issues or insurance problems, and I can have hundreds of Rembrandts up for sale without owning a single one of them.

The trick is, you have to know that you can get hold of what you sell, and you know who has it and at what price. Continue reading

JazzArt Sunday Special

God, is it time to do the video thing already??? Okay, here goes the mix for Sunday, the 30th of October, 2022, just a few days before the Great Depression, which I will eventually come out of, but I thought today that I would post these videos of famous people playing jazz in front of my stage decorations/paintings/drops, which are coming up for sale at one of the most prestigious galleries on the planet — hold on to your hats for further details!

ESCAPE! Videos #9

While you’re waiting for some asshole to attack you with a hammer in the middle of the night, you might as well play a video game or a couple of fun videos, so here’s your “Middle of the Night Awaiting Hammer Blows to the Head” video collection for the day.

I hope that the immanent destruction of your planet won’t inconvenience you terribly, but we must have bypasses, and this solar system is definitely in the way of progress. Don’t worry, you won’t feel a thing. Exactly which thing it is that you won’t be feeling remains to be determined by chance.

Look at it this way — if the Republicans lose, they deny it, and march against the Dems. If the Republicans win, the Dems will curl up and die, because that’s what they always do. Dems are too damned civilized, and they don’t realize there’s a war going on in their own backyard.

So while you’re waiting for The End — which is, indeed, nigh — let’s have some fun and at the same time, let’s learn something. Continue reading
