Get on Board!

Ridiculous, you say? People know how to cut halvah, who doesn’t know how to cut halvah??? Well, the fact is, most people have never even tried it, so here’s a video for them!

Well, my stats went from an average of 200 hits a day on my ejgoldguru youtube channel to well over 1,000 hits a day, and they’re all over the map, from recent to decades-old videos, and it’s all due to the sharpening of the video marketing, meaning that I’ve put some time and effort into the barbs and hooks surrounding the video.

The client has no idea what’s actually ON the video until they watch it. Up until that time, the only thing they know is the button —  the “thumbnail” image that you’ve put there to attract the eye and interest the intellect.

Note that the VERBAL stuff is very important, much more so than it ever used to be — the search engines are interested in how ENGAGED your page is, not the number of hits, although that certainly comes into play when determining the level of your video compared to others in its class.

Please, please take note that I definitely said “In its Class”, which means that in another class, it might not even show up — it’s up to you how inclusive the class will be that contains your video. I like to have a class of millions of hits, so that means as generic as possible, without compromising the search power, the rating of the video compared to others.

The best case I can make for this is to get the title as generic as possible while still being selective — the old radio wave combination of “Sensitivity”, which means how powerful the signal is, how clear the channel and how crisp the communication, and “Selectivity”, which means being able to tune out conflicting stations while tuning in the target frequency.

If this all sounds horribly technical, don’t worry, it will clear up as you go deeper and deeper into the realm of social media — the whole idea is to drive the cattle toward some definite goal, and that means that you need a funnel set up in advance of the drive.

That funnel turns out to be your attracting youtube videos, which serve as a kind of baited hook, on which various waves of passing fish might nibble, hopefully by the mega-millions, driving your video totally viral, which is the object of the game.

Once you have one viral video, it’s easy to get another, just ride on the first one and depend on your subscribers to hop on it in the first few minutes of launching — I have one video that reached a quarter million before it pooped out, and it’s still getting a few hundred hits a day, but nothing like that original first wave of hits.

So little by little, I’m reconstructing my videos with all the bells & whistles of social media and search engine optimization at my disposal, and sure enough, it’s having a powerful effect — the number of video views has gone up dramatically in the past week, and it’s quickly recovering the old vim and vigor of the channel when I ran it every day, which I’m doing again.

Make no mistake, the seo video is the best way to get your voice out there — do all the clicking and such on instagram and facebook, but it’s the viral video that will spread your gospel the best.

See You At The Top!!!
