Thank You, Doctor Freud

“What’s this?” “What do I do now?” “Where am I?” “What’s happening?” “How should I think about this?” “What does it mean???” “Where do I go now?” “Tell me what to do!”

If you’ve ever coached someone who keeps asking questions throughout the Prosperity Path Run, looking to get you to take responsibility for their actions, you’ll appreciate this answer I gave to someone this morning…

“Freud.”

“Freud?” she asked, with an inquisitive shake of her head.

“Yeh, Sigmund Freud, the World’s First Psychiatrist.”

“I don’t get it,” she said.

“He was de-frocked, disgraced, a total mess under the spell of a powerful cocaine addiction and a hankering for his teen-aged neice. Put that all together and you get modern psychiatry. But Freud was the first to make popular what Jewish folks have always done — answer a question with a question, and that’s what I always do:

“What does this mean?” a Runner will query, expecting me to tell them a definitive answer with no work at all from them.

“What do you think it means?” I ask back.

See You At The Top!
