Monday is Music Day

Terry Melcher and Mark Lindsay

I snapped this photo of my friends Terry Melcher and Mark Lindsay with my Mamiyaflex Medium Format Camera back in 1966 or 1967, either at RCA or at Cielo Drive, I can’t determine from the photo clues which it was. This photo is the result of a night’s search through thousands of negatives to locate it and the others I took of Terry back in the day.

I’ll catch you up on how I spent my night:

I heard from Doris Day that she would like copies of my photos of her son Terry, taken at 10048 and 10050 Cielo Drive sometime around 1966 and 1967. I spent the better part of three hours locating the negatives. I had thought they were right to hand, or I might not have offered the photos. Whew. Michele and I found them in a banker’s box, one of 14, that she’d hauled into my office for me to rummage through, and I did.

So, I’ve got the negs in hand, will give to Dok for scanning, and we’ll ship off the prints to Doris hopefully today or tomorrow.

Now, then, to Ashram business. I’ve made a few alterations, waiting for the Condo to be cleared so I can build there, and I’ll be putting in beach houses for those dispossessed by the move. Everything you had in the condo you can have in the new housing, no problem. Ask SpaceBuddhaa for help in moving your stuff or decorating your new Ashram home or temple.

I had just enough time to make a few changes, add a basic building for Red Miguel, got a sign up but did not complete the interior or the windows, door, etc. and had to bug out at 4:00 am in order to complete BardoTown Pure Exploration Orb, something suggested to me by a friend who is a bigtime game developer.

From 4:00 ’til now, I’ve worked on BardoTown’s entryway and basic intro, movement speed — it’s an incredibly enormous single-boundary map, about 200 times the size of a Second Life Region. It’s big.

And there are a lot of things in it. Things I put there for you to find and wonder about, use, and inspect closely.

As you walk about, you won’t have the continual attention-sparking zombies, rats, dogs, cats and humanoids to distract you or to attract you.

It’s quiet, peaceful and very dark there.

Normally, you would not be able to stand still. In the Bardos, you always have the Karmic Wind pushing you relentlessly forward, and you can FEEL it pushing you.

Here, you are protected from the Karmic Wind and, unlike a flesh-and-blood Bardo Experience, you will be able to remember what happened long after the event. This is good training so you can remember Shifts & Transitions and their Signs & Portents.

We had a wonderful email from Della regarding her experience of the latest Shift. I’ve asked that she be contacted so she can post it on our forum and my blog, if she will. It would be very valuable to others to know that they are not alone, not the only one feeling and sensing the Winds of Change.

Most human misery and emotional suffering comes from the species-need to rationalize everything that happens, to explain one’s actions, to justify one’s new position and new experience, one’s new relationships and configurations and personal situation in the new reality.

Geez, guys, there are millions of psycho analysts — is that how it’s spelled??? — waiting out there for YOU to come along and unload your particular brand of personal suffering and misery, all because you didn’t measure up to the standards of others or to your own.

Well, stupid, lower the bar.

What’s wrong with lowering the bar? Do you really need the perpetual challenge of somehow miraculously winning your parents’ approval?

When will you ever learn that that’s never going to happen?

That’s right, even if you should happen to outlive your mother and dad, their hold and control on you will never end until your body drops and your Being stands there asking, “Could someone please tell me what just happened?”.

You stepped on a rake and you’re dead. Too bad you didn’t believe it was going to ever happen, eh? Well, better luck next time, they’ll tell you at the Gate.

So I worked on BardoTown, and I’m thinking it’s probably ready for Prime Time, so I’m going to ask Grishy to put it on her gamester comp and see how fast it can go.

The Orb is chat-outfitted and ready for YOU to have a great experience triggering off Bardo and Prior Life Experiences.

Wow, it’s that time already, quarter of the hour, must dash off for breakfast now. We will be onstage at about 3:00 pm or even earlier. I do a lot more music on this side; I’ll keep you posted from day to day on Life in the Slow Lane.

Yep, Monday is Music Day, not that we don’t have music every day — we do, and didge music every morning along with our Tibetan singing bowls, bells, whistles, gongs & drums. That’s my morning in a nutshell. At this time of the day, you can bet that I’m really busy with our morning ritual, healing prayers, protection prayers, dharma prayers for you guys, and then it’s time for breakfast.

Don’t forget that a prayer is just another kind of text messaging, but through the heart.

Don’t forget to sign up for Gorby’s Death Club! I’ll be sending out a newsletter on all the DeathRun events for DeathRunners and their immediate kin. Hey, Rocky, can you spot all the changes???

See You At The Top!!!
