Collectible Chocolate Tins

Front section with handpainted angel, Double Chocolate

Sure, it’s outdated by a few months, but it’s still drinkable, but wait — it’s a collectible, so you wouldn’t want to drink this any more than you’d drink an ultra-rare million-dollar wine, although there are some very insecure billionaires who WOULD drink a million-dollar bottle, even if it tasted like vinegar, and in general, as rare wines go, it would.

Wine improves with age, and then doesn’t. Chocolate improves with age and is just as good a hundred years from now as it is right now today, as is, but like I said, it’s a collectible, and that means “leave it alone”.

In other words, if you open it, you lower the value of the thing as a collectible. Believe me, an unopened bottle of Panther Piss Whiskey would bring a LOT more than a dried up open bottle.

I have a pack of Lucky Strikes, wartime green, unopened — guess what that’s worth! And it’s for sale, if I can locate it somewhere among my antiques, probably right outside my office, on the third shelf up, just behind the pastel box, where else would you keep it?

So I took a few more photos from every side and angle:

So on the right side is another angel. You can ask for three angels, or a combination of angel, landscape & abstract, of which I’ve done several already waiting to be sold.

See? I wouldn’t kid you — there are three angels on this chocolate tin, from the original website, Chocolate Obsessions. It won’t be the same on more recent issues.

Here’s a flat-on shot of one of them…

And of the other, the remaining one being the front of the can, remember?

You’ll note that the background is canvas. It doesn’t have to be.  I’m looking at a variety of designs, but the simpler the better.

If you like this idea, let me know, don’t just sit there and smile. I make these for myself, but I’m only too happy to share these with folks who want to try their hand at making and selling them with their own art on them.

The chocolate product is very good, but it’s not the point. The tins are the point, and that’s what I went for in the first place.

I have some samples of the product if anyone would like to try it, and I’ll be ordering more as soon as these run out.

I’m putting this up for auction when some more of my sold things come down — right now, it’s very crowded on my eBay site, but many things have sold and should be cleared by today.

Here’s the address:

Just go look, not to buy, just look. Think of similar things YOU could do, if only you had the time, skills and inclination!

Well, at least you can start by trying to carve out some time in your life for other things besides the bare necessities.

It will take some doing. Meanwhile …. wanna buy an outdated box of Double Dutch Chocolate Mix?

See You At The Top!!!
