GoreBagg’s World 3D Shooter

You start here, at the Hobbit Village, where you can resupply or just visit and chat with the locals.

Nothing bad happens in this little hobbit town — no zombies here, but just over the little stone bridge and you’d better watch your step.

The object is to avoid annoying the zombies as you stroll through the woods and little hamlets along the way.

If you stumble across one or more, they will immediately commence to attack you relentlessly and mercilessly.

At least, I HOPE mercilessly — I programmed them that way to make your task just a little more difficult. Continue reading

First New Game in 2 Years

It’s been a long time since I’ve released a 3D action first-person shooter, and it’s appropriate that it should be 2forts, on which I’ve been working on and off for about ten years now, adding detail, taking detail out, looking for that perfect balance of gameplay versus lag, and with the addition of the underwater and slime pools, I think this is going to be a release. I’m sending it out for testing today, and if it passes muster, we’ll try it online with multiplayer, then package it up and get it ready for download — the whole process will take about 1 to 2 weeks to get the install to you.

Some Thoughts on the Subject of HTK

What is HTK, anyway? HTK is a game programmer term referring to the number of hits it takes to kill something in a game. It comes from D&D, which is “Dungeons & Dragons”, invented by two friends in the sci-fi fantasy realm, Dave Arnesson and Gary Gygax, both of whom became millionaires just prior to passing to the Next Realm in the Sky.
