http://youtu.be/R4MlOhSJzWU

BardoMania Is Here At Last. The fulfillment of my visionary dreams so many years ago, long before computers existed. Now, at last, you can experience First-Person what I had envisioned as a training environment for you to learn how to maneuver in the Afterlife and other-worldly alternate universes.

I think I have in my hands what might be the Ultimate Immersive Death, Rebirth, Afterlife, Alternative Universes and Alien Dimensions of Otherness Experience of Your Lifetime, all for the price of a cup of coffee and a donut!!!

Here’s what I know so far:

Okay, Natasha, Here is Game Plan:

Recognize the phrase? If you watched Rocky & Bullwinkle, you’ll easily recall Boris Badenov’s voice. Here, in fact, IS the game plan for the development of GODD Games:

Diablo III is finally here, after more than two decades in development. Notably, the servers are down again today, this time for five hour or more, while Blizzard irons out the bugs they failed to catch because they never player-tested the game until final release.

Smallest Violin in the World Playing “Hearts & Flowers”

Hearts and Flowers, a sentimental song of yesteryear (that’s a long time ago by modern standards, about the 1900s or teens. It used to be played in theatrical melodramas — American Stage Performances were sort of on a par with modern high school or grade school theater… and still are. Cats, Cats and more Cats. So what about the violin? It’s playing that sad song for anyone who can’t keep up with today’s gaming hardware and user-smartness requirements. First of all, nobody can, not even the idiots who set the standards. Secondly, nobody cares, and thirdly, hardly anyone knows what the hell I’m talking about here. Basic lesson to be learned is, stay with it to penetrate its secrets. That’s the message for this particular eveningtide, in which you can hear the town crier calling gently, “three o’clock and all is well, except for a gang of orcs and dark lords blasting through the barrier! Well, back to work I go now,  on CTF Six, an experiential experience for you in Bardo Architecture, with a touch of gaming thrills, spills and chills!

To Blizz or Not to Blizz

I say blizz away. diablo three is not horribly unpleasant to play. What you’ll have to get used to is an overabundance of extreme detail and architecture.

My old tired eyes tolerate the dark, muted screens fairly well, at least so far.  We’ll be doing safari in this for a while, so get used to it. Your controls will be more or less the same, and the layout follows the original more or less, so there isn’t much to learn. One thing that might drive you nuts is how to identify a UNID. Merely right-click on the item in your backpack and it’ll miraculously become whatever it is already.

As Ye Sew, So Shall Ye Weave

What you’re looking at here is a small part of my personal collection of sewing machines, all precision-crafted, by hand, to exact dollhouse scale specifications. The thing that makes these unusual is that as miniature as they are — none over 2″ tall — they all without exception are working sewing machines that could, if you could find hands small enough to operate them, could produce miniature fashions. Everything from needle to bobbin is there, and in the case of the back right machine, with chromed base, it’s a double-needle device, perfectly made by a Swiss watchmaker. This collection can no longer be assembled. I thought you might find it interesting, but wait…there’s more.

To Rembrandt or Not To Rembrandt — The Money Issues

To Rembrandt, or not to Rembrandt

These are original 17th century lifetime impressions produced by Rembrandt van Rijn in Holland, about 1640-ish. They come from very powerful collections with great and unusually clear provenance, meaning they can be traced back to previous owners quite far in the past. Pieces like this generally sell for anywhere from $24,000 to $150,000 for the very rare “St. Jerome in a Dark Chamber”, which came from the collection of Theodore Donson, the world’s most famous Rembrandt collector today. So how come if you brought these into a gallery or a dealer, the best they could offer would be a hundred bucks each, and that’s FRAMED!!! If you don’t get what the game is, tune in Saturday morning at 6;30 a.m. for a serious tutorial on selling stuff into a bad economy. There’s an ART to it, not just dumb luck or running full-tilt against a brick wall. See you on the ICW. If you don’t know how to join us there, ASK!!!

Peace,
